This Privacy Policy explains how Dyno App (“Dyno,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our secure, privacy-focused messaging application (the “Services”).

By creating a Dyno account or using our Services, you agree to the terms described in this Privacy Policy and in our Terms of Service.

1. Our Privacy Commitment

Dyno is built with strict privacy and security principles:

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not share your data with advertisers.
• We collect only the information necessary to operate a secure messaging service.
• Your messages are encrypted, protected, and never accessible to us.

Dyno is designed so that only you (and the people you message) can access your conversations.

2. Information We Collect

Dyno collects only the minimal information required to register your account, deliver messages, and maintain core functionality.

2.1 Basic Account Information

To create a Dyno account, you must provide:

• Phone number – required for registration and to help you connect with friends on Dyno.
• Username – chosen by you during sign-up or updated later.
• Optional email address – used only for account recovery or password reset purposes.

We do not require your real name or any demographic data.

2.2 Contact Information (Optional)

If permitted by your device or local laws, you may choose to allow Dyno to access your phone contacts.

If enabled:

• This is used solely to invite and connect your contacts on Dyno.
• No names, emails, notes, or additional contact details are collected.

You may turn off contact syncing and remove uploaded contacts at any time in Settings.

2.3 Usage Information

To help your friends know when you are reachable and to enable message delivery statuses (sent/received/read), Dyno collects and securely stores:

• Last active time (when you last opened Dyno)
• Message timestamps (sent, delivered, read)

This information improves core messaging functionality and user experience.

2.4 Messages and Media

Dyno uses strong security and encryption principles.

• Text messages are encrypted at rest and in transit.
• Photos, videos, and other media are stored securely with encryption.
• We cannot read or view your messages.
• We do not use your content for analytics, ads, or training.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only for the following purposes:

• To create and maintain your account.
• To deliver messages and media between users.
• To notify your contacts when you are online or last active.
• To notify users when messages are sent, delivered, or read.
• To help you recover access to your account (if you provided an email).
• To ensure safety, security, and integrity of the platform.

We do not analyze your messages, profile, or behavior for advertising or tracking.

4. How We Store & Protect Your Data

Dyno uses secure infrastructure to deliver messages globally.

4.1 Encryption

• Messages and media are encrypted in transit and at rest.
• Some encrypted media files may be temporarily stored for faster delivery, but they are unreadable without keys held only by your device.
• We do not store Secret Chat messages after delivery (if enabled in future versions).

4.2 Limited Retention

Dyno retains personal data only as long as necessary to provide the Services.

• Undelivered messages may be stored temporarily until delivery.
• Account data is retained as long as your account remains active.
• You may delete your account at any time. This permanently removes your messages, profile, and all associated data.

5. Sharing of Information

Dyno does not sell your data or share it for advertising.

We may share limited information only in these circumstances:

5.1 Other Dyno Users

• Only information you choose to share with other users is visible to them (e.g., username, profile picture, etc.)

5.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose limited information if required to comply with valid legal processes.

Because we do not store message content in readable form:

• We cannot provide message content.
• The only data potentially available is your phone number, last login time, and basic account info such as your profile photo.

We resist overly broad or unlawful requests.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:

• Access a copy of your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and associated data
• Restrict or object to certain processing

7. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time.
Deleting your account:

• Removes your phone number, username, and profile data
• Deletes undelivered messages from our servers
• Removes encrypted media linked to your account
• Cannot be undone

Messages already delivered to other users remain on their devices.

8. Cookies & Tracking

Dyno does not use cookies for ads, profiling, or tracking.
We may use minimal technical cookies on our website solely for functionality.

9. Children’s Privacy

Dyno requires users to be at least 15 years old, or the minimum legal age in their region, to create an account. If you are not old enough to consent to Dyno’s Terms, a parent or guardian must consent on your behalf.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated inside the app. Continued use of Dyno constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
